EFFICIENT USE OF POSITION PRAISED
WA Outdoor Project of the Year
Stone, timber and water come together beautifully in the pool and alfresco area of this Darlington home by Webb & Brown-Neaves, which has taken out this year’s top prize for outdoor projects.
A generous alfresco area with an outdoor kitchen equipped with a gas pizza oven, commercial barbecue, sink, hotplate and beer and wine fridges overlooks the infinity-edge swimming pool, which is filled via a water tank and is solar heated.
The judges praised the “sensational use” of natural products such as timber lining to the ceiling and travertine on the walls and floors, which also helped to enhance the “brilliant” sense of flow between inside and outside spaces.
The “highly efficient” use of the elevation position, with its prevailing breezes and breathtaking views was also commended.
“This project absolutely perfectly integrates in the hillside environment and provides year-round functionality,” the judges concluded.
